What is the scent of 1-Step Cleanser?

1-Step Cleanser was formulated to be fragrance free, meaning no added natural or synthetic fragrances were added. Therefore, any scent noted is inherently part of the raw materials. This product has been tested for safety, stability and efficacy and is safe for use on the skin. For external use only -- keep out of eyes, nose and mouth.

Is 1-Step Cleanser safe for use on lash extensions?

Many of the ingredients found in 1-Step Cleanser can be found in other lash extension cleansers, and are great for lash extensions. We don’t anticipate reduced lash retention compared to routine wear/cleansing, but recommend incorporating into your cleansing routine 1-2x/week to start and increasing usage as desired. Please refer to your lash artist for confirmation and cleansing technique.

What color is 1-Step Cleanser?

The 1-Step Cleanser was formulated to be semi-transparent, and the color can range from clear to pale yellow depending on the specific lots of raw materials used in each batch. Since the cleanser bottle is a transparent blue color, a champagne or pale yellow toned cleanser batch may appear differently when viewed through the cleanser bottle.

How much 1-Step Cleanser should I use at a time? How often? Can I use it twice daily?

1-Step Cleanser was formulated to be a unique hybrid cleanser and is gentle enough to be used twice daily AM and PM.

AM Routine OR On skin that is free of makeup or sunscreen:

1. Wet face
2. Dispense 1 pump into wet hands
3. Apply to wet face. Thoroughly cleanse for at least 1 minute, spending approximately 15 seconds each on your forehead, cheeks and nose, chin, and eye area, adding more water if desired. Avoid getting cleanser into the eyes. Rinse thoroughly.

PM Routine OR When wearing makeup and/or sunscreen:

1. Wet hands. (Leave face dry.)
2. Dispense 2-3 pumps into wet hands
3. Apply to dry face and massage product into skin to remove makeup, sunscreen, impurities. Add a small amount of water to increase emulsification.
4. Add water to face and hands. Cleanser will begin to bubble. Thoroughly cleanse for at least 1 minute, spending approximately 15 seconds each on forehead, cheeks and nose, chin, and eye area, adding more water if desired. Avoid getting cleanser into the eyes. Rinse thoroughly.

Can I use 1-Step Cleanser with a cleansing device?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser can be used with any handheld tools and cleansing devices.

Can I use 1-Step Cleanser on other areas of my body besides my face?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser can also be used on the body to remove sunscreen, while adding hydration and being gentle on the skin’s barrier. Keep out of eyes, nose, and mouth.

Can I use 1-Step Cleanser on my makeup brushes?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser is effective in removing makeup and/or sunscreens from brushes. Note that this cleanser should not be used with the Sunforgettable Total Protection Brush-on Shields. If you wish to clean these brushes, we recommend using our Brush Cleansing wipes that were specifically formulated to clean these bristles.

Can pregnant or nursing women use 1-Step Cleanser?

There are no ingredients that are contraindicated for use in pregnant/nursing women. However, please consult your physician before starting any new treatment.

Can 1-Step Cleanser be used by men?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser is designed to be used for all skin types.

Is 1-Step Cleanser non-comedogenic? Can it be used on acne-prone skin?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser can be used on acne-prone skin and has been tested and is shown to be non-comedogenic.

Is 1-Step Cleanser gluten free?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser is gluten free.

Is 1-Step Cleanser paraben free?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser is formulated without parabens. In addition, all Colorescience® products are also 100% free from phthalates, synthetic fragrance, animal testing, talc, dyes, mineral oils, drying alcohols & chemical sunscreen.

Is 1-Step Cleanser sulfate free?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser is sulfate free. In addition, all Colorescience® products are 100% free from parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, animal testing, talc, dyes, mineral oils, drying alcohols & chemical sunscreen.

Is 1-Step Cleanser phthalate free?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser is phthalate free. In addition, all Colorescience® products are 100% free from parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, animal testing, talc, dyes, mineral oils, drying alcohols & chemical sunscreen.

Is 1-Step Cleanser oil free?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser is oil free. In addition, all Colorescience® products are 100% free from parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, animal testing, talc, dyes, mineral oils, drying alcohols & chemical sunscreen.

Is 1-Step Cleanser vegan?

Yes, there are no animal products or derivatives in 1-Step Cleanser. All Colorescience® products are 100% free from parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, animal testing, talc, dyes, mineral oils, drying alcohols & chemical sunscreen.

Is 1-Step Cleanser hypoallergenic? Can it be used on sensitive skin?

There are no known allergens in 1-Step Cleanser which has been tested and is confirmed to be hypoallergenic. Please note, however, that this product is not allergy-proof and in rare instances cause reaction in select individuals with history of allergies. In very small number of cases (less than one in one thousand), allergic reactions may be significant. If you experience such reaction, please discontinue product use and contact your physician.

Is 1-Step Cleanser polyethylene glycol (PEG) free?

Yes, 1-Step Cleanser is PEG free. All Colorescience® products are 100% free from parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, animal testing, talc, dyes, mineral oils, drying alcohols & chemical sunscreen.

Is 1-Step Cleanser tested on animals/cruelty-free?

Colorescience® does not conduct any animal testing and we are committed to the highest standards when choosing raw materials for our product formulations. We require non-animal testing statements on all raw materials before final formula approval.

What is the pH of the 1-Step Cleanser?

The pH of the 1-Step Cleanser is 6.7.

Can 1-Step Cleanser be used on skin post-procedures performed in-office?

1-Step Cleanser can be used pre-procedure by your skin health professional. It has not been studied for use post-procedure. Please consult with your skin health professional who can advise when to introduce this into your routine based on the procedure that was performed.
